    Employee mentoring

A mentoring program for new employees

The mentor receives a program rather than a request to help out: a list of tasks, deadlines and an observable result. HR sees how onboarding is going while it can still be corrected, instead of at the exit interview.

    How a mentoring program runs

    1. 1

      Assign the pair

The mentor is chosen by department and role in the org structure. The new hire sees who their mentor is in their profile rather than asking colleagues.

    2. 2

      Hand over the program

The mentor gets their own dated task list: what to show on day one, what in the first week, what by the end of the month. Tasks in their workspace, not a recommendation.

    3. 3

      Connect it to learning

Onboarding courses are assigned to the new hire automatically. The mentor explains what the course does not cover instead of retelling the policy.

    4. 4

      Run the check-ins

On day 7, 30 and 90: a short survey for the new hire and a reminder for the mentor. Three points where intervention still changes the outcome.

    5. 5

      Collect the feedback

The new hire answers a few questions about how onboarding is going. HR sees the answers across all new hires at once rather than one at a time in direct messages.

    6. 6

      Recognise the mentor

A completed program is a reason for public thanks, a badge and points. That is what keeps the mentor role something people accept rather than endure.

What the program is assembled from

Tasks for the mentor and the new hire

Each participant has their own task space with deadlines and reminders. The mentor sees their program steps in the same place as the rest of their work.

    My tasks module

    Courses and onboarding paths

The new hire's learning program is assembled once and assigned automatically by department, role or start date.

Learning module and the course builder

    Knowledge base within reach

Policies, instructions and answers to frequent questions live in one place. The mentor sends a link instead of recalling the rule from memory.

    Knowledge base module

    Org structure and profiles

The new hire can see who does what and who to ask. That removes half the questions a mentor usually absorbs.

    People and org structure module

    Check-in surveys

Short measurements on day 7, 30 and 90 show where onboarding is stalling while it can still be fixed.

    Surveys and feedback module

    Recognition for the mentor

Public thanks in the feed, a badge, and points for a completed program. The mentor role stops being unpaid extra load.

    Recognition and economy modules

    Access from a phone

Employees with no work computer and no corporate email take part on the same terms as the office, from a personal phone.

Access is issued without a work email address

    AI assistant

It helps the mentor draft a first-week plan and answers the new hire's questions about the company from your own material. A person makes every decision.

The assistant drafts and answers; it confirms nothing on its own

    Frequently asked questions

No. A mentoring program is assembled from the existing modules: tasks for the mentor and the new hire, onboarding courses, the knowledge base, check-in surveys and recognition. That is a deliberate decision — mentoring is made of the same bricks as the rest of the work, and a separate system for it tends to live a separate life.
